Summary:

MLI Munk Senior Fellow Ken Coates looks into Indigenous engagement within the oil and gas industry. The relationship between industry and First Nations communities haven’t always been great, however now things have begun to change. They continue to work together on resource development. External forces however, like environmental organizations have co-opted legitimate concerns of Indigenous groups and used them for their own agenda, which presents its own challenges.
