A new “study” published in Reviews on Environmental Health claims that fracking harms children’s brains. The problem? It’s completely bunk.
Here’s why:
1. The study was written by anti-fracking activists…who failed to disclose conflict of interest.
2. The study contains no new research – it just re-hashes findings from other studies (several of which have been discredited).
3. Their claim assumes – without proof – that fracking chemicals will contaminate the air and water. When done correctly, fracking chemicals do not get into the groundwater, and there is no evidence that fracking reduces air quality to unsafe levels.
4. The study does not cite any evidence linking exposure to fracking chemicals with any negative health effects.
