Summary:

Both AWB and CLB dilbits exhibited properties typical of a heavy, “conventional” crude oil. In no instance was any oil observed to have sunk. Visual observations of the surface of the oil in the various tanks showed that a crust, or armoring, formed as the oil weathered. In some instances, especially noted under static conditions, the lighter components of the oil came out the oil as bubbles within the slick.
